The Bradley Method R , used and praised by women for almost seventy years, prepares you for drug and surgery-free childbirth and puts you in control by providing the tools to navigate evidence-based care. Certified childbirth educator Susan McCutcheon, one of Dr. Bradley's first students, now makes this natural approach to childbirth more accessible than ever.
You will learn: - Exercises and nutrition to get your body ready for birthing - To defuse fear by understanding all aspects of laboring - How to involve your partner as a birth coach and a fully engaged participant - What's driving the induction epidemic and how to avoid an unnecessary induction - What's driving the cesarean surgery epidemic and how to reduce your risk - How to get the information you need to make informed decisions about your birth "The Bradley Method's simple objective, through relaxation, breathing, and visualization, is a birth free of the interventions frequently offered to women in the different stages of childbirth: fetal monitors, drug-induced labor, anesthesia, episiotomy, and Caesarean section.
Its other defining feature, the husband's active participation in the delivery, is critical to this overall goal of an intervention-free birth. Review quote "Instead of distracting yourself from the birth process Susan does a great job putting her years of experience and research into a readable evidenced based guide to prepare women and their coaches for pregnancy, labor, and birth.

Natural Childbirth the Bradley Way
The Bradley method of natural childbirth also known as "husband-coached childbirth" is a method of natural childbirth developed in by Robert A. Bradley, M. The Bradley method emphasizes that birth is a natural process: mothers are encouraged to trust their body and focus on diet and exercise throughout pregnancy; and it teaches couples to manage labor through deep breathing and the support of a partner or labor coach. Teachers of the Bradley method believe that—with adequate preparation, education and help from a loving, supportive coach—most women can give birth naturally, without drugs or surgery.

Natural Childbirth the Bradley Way: Revised Edition
There are many ways to skin a cat, but this is what I know and love. His reasoning was that if animals could do it so easily and without much intervention then so could women. After delivering babies for a number of years he was struck by the fact that the women thanked him profusely and called him their hero after a safe delivery. The Bradley method has the husband or another person where the husband is unable or unwilling to participate who acts as the coach during labor and delivery. In theory, the labor coach is in reality, is not in pain and has a firm grasp of the goal. The woman in labor is in another reality, is in a lot of pain and has a hard time seeing through the current moment towards the goal.
